About Jennifer L Thompson
Jennifer Thompson, MD, is board-certified in general pediatrics and allergy and immunology. She joined the University of Florida division of pediatric allergy, immunology and rheumatology in July 2020 as an assistant professor in the department of pediatrics.
Dr. Thompson earned her medical degree from the University of Kentucky in Lexington. She completed pediatric residency training at the National Capital Consortium, where she spent time in their Bethesda, Maryland, and Washington, DC, locations. Following residency, she served four years in the Navy in Guam and Bethesda as a general pediatrician. After leaving the military, she finished a fellowship in allergy and immunology at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Dr. Thompson sees patients at UF Health Pediatric Specialties in Gainesville, located in the UF Health Medical Plaza and at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, which is nationally ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best pediatric hospitals in the nation. Dr. Thompson is especially interested in allergic rhinitis, asthma, atopic dermatitis, food allergies and immunotherapy.
She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, the American College of Allery, Asthma & Immunology and the Clinical Immunology Society.
